Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC)

KU is one of only about 50 U.S. universities with a full offering of Army, Air Force/Space Force, and Naval ROTC programs.

All ROTC programs offer scholarships that pay tuition and fees, furnish books and uniforms, and provide a monthly living allowance.

On successful completion of requirements and graduation from KU, Army or Air Force/Space Force ROTC cadets are commissioned as Army or Air Force Second Lieutenants, and Naval ROTC Midshipmen are commissioned either as Ensigns in the Navy or as Second Lieutenants in the Marine Corps.

KU is also one of 25 Project Global Officer (Project GO) universities, a national initiative to encourage ROTC students to study critical languages and develop regional expertise and intercultural skills.

Project GO provides scholarships to ROTC students to study languages either on campus or through KU Study Abroad. Languages offered at KU: Chinese (Mandarin) Japanese, Portuguese and Russian.
