We recognize the unique background, needs and strengths military dependents bring to KU and foster an environment that is welcoming and inclusive of all our military-affiliated students.

Located in 345 Summerfield we offer dependents study and meeting spaces, a 24-7 lounge, and dedicated staff to provide support tailored to all military-affiliated students.

Transitioning to KU

Residency & Yellow Ribbon

  • In-state tuition rates per the Armed Forces Residency benefit for:
    • dependents eligible for the GI Bill®
    • dependents of veterans who were stationed in Kansas during service and/or were Kansas residents prior to joining the service
    • dependents of active duty, Reservists, and Kansas National Guardsmen
  • Yellow Ribbon Program funding for Post-9/11 GI Bill users NOT eligible for in-state tuition (i.e. those living in Missouri while attending classes at KU)

  • KU Student Veterans of America student organization open to all KU students. Service and leadership opportunities to help advance military-affiliated students' interests on campus
  • VA Work Study on-campus job opportunities for GI BIll users
  • On-campus housing
    • GI Bill users can pay on their housing throughout the semester. Contact housing@ku.edu or 785-864-4560 to let them know you're a GI Bill users. When it comes time for you to enroll for the next semester, they can temporarily get your hold lifted so you can sign up for classes.
  • Information for commuter students and Nontraditional Student Services
  • Delegate Access
    • If you would like a third party (ie. parent) to access and/or ask questions about your accounts, you must delegate access to them
    • Delegates can be authorized to pay bills, check VA benefits status, and conduct other account related buisness
